The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Cabriolet comes with a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine delivering a total of 621 hp and mated exclusively to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The standard S-Class Cabriolet is already one of the most luxurious convertibles currently on the market and the Maybach variant is largely unchanged. It does however adopt plush new seats and a selection of Maybach badges just to remind owners that they’re in something rather special. Elsewhere, there are the same plush elements as the standard model include the dual screens, black dashboard trim and ambient lighting. The exterior of the model also adopts a number of distinctive elements including Maybach badges, quad tailpipes, a newly-designed set of wheels and an updated front bumper. The S650 Cabriolet becomes the first model in the Mercedes-Maybach to be built in limited numbers with just 300 destined for the production line of which only 75 will arrive in the United States. In Europe, prices will start at around 300,000 euros ($321,900) with U.S. pricing expected to be released at a later date.
